For this month, we feature Mr. Kapil Gupta, Director of Narsingh Dass & Co.

PaperOne™: Hi Mr. Kapil Gupta, thank you for taking the time to speak to us! Could you give us an introduction to Narsingh Dass & Co. and your role within it?

Kapil Gupta: Hello, pleasure to meet you. Yes certainly. We go way back to 1958, where we were first established as a specialty paper trader in Delhi. We are now one of the leading paper distributors both in India, and abroad. We have also expanded our base to other parts of India, setting up offices in major cities to service our customers more closely. I work as the Director of the company, where I handle the import business and develop new international relationships.

PaperOne™: That’s impressive! Being one of the leading paper distributors in the country, what would you say differentiates your company from competitors?

Kapil Gupta: We, as a group are committed to be the solution provider for our clients. We take the time to fully understand their needs before coming up with a tailored solution for them. For this, we even work with other product suppliers that deal with adhesives, films and inks to ensure that the customer is 100% satisfied!

PaperOne™: Yes! At the heart of every successful business is the ability to listen to customers and provide them with what they need. Moving on, we’ve heard that the company is very involved in several CSR initiatives across the country. Do tell us more!

Kapil Gupta: Ah you’ve heard! Giving back to society has always been an important part of our work, A tradition, and a belief which goes as far back as our esteemed founder, my grandfather. As such, we are involved in many non-profit, social and religious organizations in India. Many of these work towards caring for under-privileged people and those with special needs.

PaperOne™: That’s great to hear! Next, we’d like to hear about your relationship with APRIL Group. Is there anything you’d like to share about your time as a partner with us?

Kapil Gupta: Yes, of course! We’ve been a partner of APRIL for nearly 15 years now, carrying the PaperOne™ Offset, Print One, Inkjet and Digital products. We love the optimum quality of the products, and the fact that APRIL believes in offering an experience beyond paper. We really appreciate the technical training and advice on developing better ways to service our customers!

PaperOne™: It’s our pleasure, and we certainly hope to be able to work with you for many more years to come! Moving on to the pulp and paper industry in general, what do you think about its current state?

Kapil Gupta: I think the biggest thing we are witnessing at the moment is the shift towards the digital space in terms of e-statements, books and magazines. But at the same time, there is an increased usage across packaging and other functional uses of paper as well. There is certainly still a role for paper now and in the future, it’s just a matter of pivoting to meet market demands.

PaperOne™: Thank you so much Mr. Gupta! One last question before you go! Where do you see the company growing in the next 5-10 years?

Kapil Gupta: We do see an optimistic future for us as a supplier of environmentally friendly paper for various applications. As mentioned, there is an increased demand for paper-based packaging. This offers us tremendous opportunities for growth. We are also looking to increase our international footprint with greater focus on export markets!
