Paperone™ Customer Feature Article Feb 2020

1 Feb 2020

Welcome to the PaperOne™ customer feature, where we interview our customers to find out more about them, their company, their thoughts about the industry, and their partnership with APRIL Group.

For this month’s spotlight, we sat down with Mr. Sedat Temelli, co-founder of Vest-pa Kağıtçılık . Headquartered in İzmir and with offices in Istanbul, Vest-pa specialises in the sales and distribution of office paper across Turkey, where they have a sizeable market share.

Here are the highlights of our conversation:

PaperOne™: Hi Sedat, thank you for taking the time to speak with us. Do tell us more about yourself and about Vest-pa.

Mr. Sedat: Thank you for having me. My brother and I founded Vest-Pa in 2004. We initially started out as a newspaper distribution company before we eventually expanded into the sales and distribution company that we are today, with offices operating across Turkey.

PaperOne™: What does your day-to-day entail at Vest-pa?

Mr. Sedat: I am largely involved with overseeing the sales and operations of our products. Apart from leading a team of employees, I take on a client-facing role where I liaise with existing and potential clients by ensuring that their needs are always being met.

PaperOne™: It’s interesting that you and your brother decided to go into this business together. What do you think helps to differentiate Vest-pa from the rest?

Mr. Sedat: Yes, we are very close! In fact, the name ‘Vest-pa’ is a combination of both our names — Sedat and Vedat. The both of us are very driven individuals who are passionate about our work and our customers, and I think this is what really differentiates us from our competitors. We believe in the importance of building personal relationships with each and every one of our customers which is why one of our 4 sales methods still includes door-to-door sales.

PaperOne™: It’s great to hear that customer relations is a top priority for your business. On that note, does Vest-pa engage in any CSR efforts?

Mr. Sedat: Yes definitely! In fact, helping our local community is something Vedat and I believe in strongly. Because we deal largely with stationery, we provide necessary resources such as paper and notebooks to schools with financial situations.

PaperOne™: Tell us more about your partnership with APRIL Group, and maybe share a bit on why you support PaperOne™ products.

Mr. Sedat: We have been working with APRIL for 2 years now, and have been working closely with the senior management team on ways to expand PaperOne™’s presence in Turkey. One of the main reasons why we choose APRIL over other brands is because of their commitment to their customers, which is something we resonate with. We currently import and distribute the Office Paper range.

PaperOne™: It has been such a pleasure talking to you. Just one last question before we wrap up — with the shift towards e-magazines and e-books, how do you think it has impacted the pulp and paper industry?

Mr. Sedat: While there is definitely a shift in consumer trends, we believe that there is still a long way to go. For instance, we see the shift away from printing at internet cafes and stationery shops, and instead an increase in the ownership of personal printers. This has led to an increase in the consumption of paper at home, and is reflected in our increasing sales as well.
